Well, what a couple of days it has been. I think I can safely say that I will not be making it to Zozobra in Santa Fe this year. The vote was a close one, but the "Stay in Prague, burn something there" won out in the end. That's ok, there were no plane tickets left for today (the 8th) anyway. Unfortunately, the plans for building Prague Zozobra didn't go quite as smoothly as we had wished.
The morning was a bit fuzzy due to the fact that Marianna has her Czech Names Day today, and had her Slovak Names Day yesterday (and our five year anniversary was on Sunday - hit the all you can eat Brazilian place, hmmm...chocolate covered Brazilian place...) so we were out doing some celebrating. Things were going well, the Czechs killed Sweden in hockey, I came the closet yet to getting a ton eighty in darts, pool was fun, Gambrinus was flowing. Good times. We hit the Non-Stop Pizza place and had some good food, more beers, a couple of slivovices and some Bailey’s before trying to find the way home sometime around 4am. It was indeed a successful Name Day!
The morning (sometime around 1 pm - I'm operating on NO time, I'll be writing a blurp later about that) light showed the price we paid for the evening. At some point, somehow, my backpack came open, and the video camera disappeared. The rest of the morning was spent retracing steps, looking in corners, and cruising pawn shops. Dang. You see, I just got a new computer, and I would finally be able to capture video, and edit. I was actually looking for the camera in order to hook it up to the computer and see how well it worked. It was time to get that Buda and the Pest video finished up, and see about getting it on this here little web site. I'd gotten a swift lil' Firewire cable the day before and everything. Well, not editing yet. Fate doesn't want me to edit, it seems. Not just yet anyway. Too bad, I was looking forward to making "Prague Zozobra, the life and times of the first Stary Pan Soumrak." Too bad.
