Fuego's Place - a place to burn with Fuego

Dateline - Slovakia. Preznit Bush meets with Putin

Bratislava - Bush's favorite sandwich? Well, yes, but it's also a place in a country called "Slovakia." (Important note: Not only is Slovakia the home of the famous "Bratislava" Sandwich, but it is also not Slovenia. I hope somebody pointed this out to Bush before he got there, or at least wrote it on his hand or something, like when he was back in school.) The people of Slovakia had mixed feelings about this prestigious event. A source located in Liptovsky Hradok, about 200km east of the sandwich, who very well could have been understood correctly, was reported to have been angry about the Slovak government spending 300,000,000 Slovak Crowns on the event. That is a lot of money, folks. (Of course it could have been 3 mil, or even 300,000kc, or he might not have been speaking about the event at all...but I'm pretty sure he said million in there somewhere...why don’t these Slovaks just speak Czech, like everybody else?) In other areas, the boarder guards were also unhappy with the event. For them, it means hoards of terrorists coming in from all directions, and lots more work checking passports and bags. At one small boarder crossing, guards were heard to say: "Open the trunk. Oh, you guys are snowboarders? Cool, have fun!"
This has been the first in a series of reports from Slovakia by pL. Stay tuned for the next piece : "Bush takes a bite out of the Big Sandwich."

This just in From the "Big Sandwich" itself:
It seems residents of Bratislava have also formed an opinion about the summit that happened here a few days ago, and it follows suit. Not only was the event expensive, but it was also very annoying. Soldiers with automatic weapons, and snipers on the roof were just the beginning of the annoyances. Parking was even worse than usual due to the event. Some residents were not even allowed to drive home. "This is freedom?" one resident was reported to have said, "well, bring back the communists, at lest then we could fu*&#(g park!" IT seems that now things are over, Bratislava is once again settling down to its normal pace. "Finally, I can get to Tescos without my car being searched!"
Stay tuned for further reports in this series from the "Big Sandwich."
