Fuego's Place - a place to burn with Fuego

Another day of scouting, and an endless lunch

One of the hardest parts of going on one of these technical scouts is lunch. How do you get 30 people (tired, cold, and hungry) a decent meal, near where you need to be scouting, and in a hurry? The answer is Furr's Cafeteria. There are no Furr's Cafeterias around here, my friends (I hope that doesn't scare any one away from coming to the Wedding!) What we did was decide to eat at one of the locations, and did every thing in our power to make it work. The crew all got a copy of the menu in the morning, put their name on it, and marked what they wanted. We sent those menus on ahead to the restaurant - about 4 hours earlier than we planned to get there. We gave them a call an hour before we got there, plenty of warning. We got there, and waited for almost 2 hours for the food! Not good when you have a pretty full day already. Not good at all. Now, the real problem came from the restaurant saying they could do it! They just plain couldn't handle that many people. Tomorrow, we get an hour and a half to find the least crowded place and eat away. That, for me, is good, since I am the lucky one that had to get all the friggin' menus together. Time for sleep, tomorrow is the last day of tech scouting...thank the gods!
