Jarošek Slivovice

map-32x32

The bad news coming out of the store this week is that the distillery of Vladislav Jarošek has halted production of it's various brandies for the time being and will not be supplying it's store (over here) with any new product until such time as they decide if it's worth it.

I managed to pick up a huge bottle of Slivovice and the last bottle of
Jalovcova (a fantastic, old-style Gin of pure, distilled, Juniper berries). Run over there now while supplies last.

Wow, maybe just in time for Christmas or whatever you might celebrate on this particular day, my wife and I stumbled across this wonderful little shop (it used to be a restaurant) which sells really, really good, upscale, high-quality Slivovice and many other types of locally made brandies.

It’s a nice little shop that you will have to walk down into from street level, but quaint and has a fantastic selection to choose from. Alcohols range from the regular 80 proof (40%) on up to 160 proof (80%), and not only is it much better than what you will find in just about any of the local shops here, it is also much cheaper than what you will find in any of the local shops here.

Address: U Železné Lávký 10, Prague 1, Mala Strana
(the little street parallel the park across from the Malostranske Metro or, really close to that big statue of a Czech flag celebrating those lost in WWII).
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 10:00 to 18:00.
